Collage Music - Standard Repertoire for Flute/String Trio or String Trio. Updated 2 September 2010

Recommended Traditional Classical Processionals:

For parents and/or attendants:
• Jesu, joy of man's desiring - Bach - very flowing and lyrical
• Air from Watermusic - Handel - stately but not bombastic; beautiful harmonies.
• Wachet Auf - Bach - also flowing and lyrical, but with a little more “pep” than Jesu
• Canon in D - Pachelbel - can’t go wrong with this one.

For bride:
• Trumpet voluntary - Clarke - a very stately march
• Jesu, joy of man’s desiring - Bach - a lovely, understated entrance if used for bride.
• Canon in D - Pachelbel - the “new traditional” entrance piece
• Bridal Chorus - Wagner - the ultimate in tradition

Recommended Traditional Ceremony Interludes (for the unity candle, sand ceremony, etc)
All of these can be played as short (30-40 seconds), medium (a minute or so), or long versions (2 minutes or more).

• Air on the G String - Bach - an everlasting favorite
• One Hand, One Heart - Bernstein - a very romantic love song
• Ave Maria - Schubert - a traditional choice for a religious ceremony, esp Catholic. Perfect for communion. In our version, the cello has the melody.
• Arioso - Bach - similar to Bach’s Air above, but a bit more melodically flowing and not as common
• Aria from Xerxes - Handel - one of Handel’s most beautiful melodies ever.

• Spring from the Four Seasons - Vivaldi - a favorite for outdoor weddings. Light and sparkly.

• La Rejouissance (from Royal Fireworks Music) - Handel - a quick, light, jaunty one that we love to play.
• Entrance of the Queen of Sheba - Handel - very sparkly and bright!
• Alleluia from Exultate Jubilate - Mozart - a very jubilant number with a 2-step kind of feel
